Women’s football exists as more than a sport. It is a cultural space where identity, visibility and expression are constantly negotiated. Fashion, kits and fan styling become part of that language, shaping how players and supporters claim space and communicate belonging.
Drawing from research into professional players, grassroots culture and fan communities, the project explores how clothing operates as both performance wear and a personal statement. It considers how style within women’s football can carry political meaning, celebrate individuality, and build connection.
The publication reframes these ideas through the lens of football culture, highlighting the resistance and creativity within the women’s game. It shows football as a shared social space where identity, community and expression intersect.
